Hi there and welcome to Outward for the month of January.

Happy-ish New Year, I guess.

I'm Brian Lauder, editor of Outward, and we're recording a little

less in a week out from the inauguration. And like a child anticipating a trip to Disney World,

all I can focus on right now is how many sleeps I have left. It's just five, y'all.

Five sleeps. What a great way to put it. Five i'm christina katerucci a staff writer at slate

and i had a disturbing experience on new year's eve that i'd like to share um my spouse and i were

getting ready to have a little dinner with our pod and she wanted to wear a bow tie. And we realized we have both been so starved

of occasions for formal wear that both of us had forgotten how to tie a bow tie. Oh, no.

It was like our gay muscles have completely atrophied. And we need a training regimen to work them back up to normal again.

Well, apparently how to tie a tie is the number one Google search of all time.

So, Christina, I don't know if that makes me feel better or worse.

You're not in, you're in plenty of company here.

I think all of our fashion skills have atrophied probably.
