Hello, and welcome to Outward for our final episode of 2021. I'm Brian Lauder, Editor of Outward,

and if this is the last time you hear me on the show, it's because I went insane trying to coordinate

the timers on my new Christmas window candles, and I just finally jumped off one.

I'm Christina Cotterucci, a senior writer at Sleep, and I've been thinking a lot about something

lately. It seems like everything that I did in the 90s is coming back to haunt us, fashion-wise.

And I want to just put in a note of recommendation for something that hasn't fully come back yet,

which is body glitter. I'm not talking about the kind of glitter you put on your eyes or your

lips or whatever. I feel like that's sort of come back, but I'm talking about shoulders, collar

bones, cheek bones, and I feel like queer people can play a big role in this because we probably

already have some glitter tucked away from various Pride Month festivities. Of course, yeah.

I just remember, you know, New Year's Eve 2006th grade just being covered in this sticky,

gel full of glitter, and I'm ready for that to come back. Is this just like a holiday wish?

Is this for your party glitter or all the time glitter that you're wanting?

I was thinking all the time. I think that was an important facet of the late 1990s body glitter,

which is that you could wear it to school. It wasn't just certainly it would be heightened for a

party, but definitely not just around the holidays. And you wouldn't be judged for wearing it to

a casual occasion. If I had one wish this holiday season, however, it would be for next year

to be the year of casual body glitter. I love that wish. I share it with you. If you'll share with

me the wish that my window candles get on the same time tonight because it is very stressful when

they don't come on at the same time. Every now and then Brian, you say something that really makes

me feel like I've gotten a peek inside that beautiful head of yours. This is one of those moments
