In late August 1992, Randy Weaver and his family were refusing to come down from the remote Idaho mountaintop where they lived.

Weaver, a fugitive on a federal firearms charge, has been hold up in a cabin near Naples for more than a year.

The government thought Randy Weaver was a dangerous, possibly violent extremist.

Randy and his wife Vicky thought the government

was an agent of Satan on earth. When it was all over, three people were dead, and the government

had spent millions of dollars to catch one man. We'll find out why the siege at Ruby Ridge

unfolded the way it did, and think about some of the questions it raises.

And it's not news to any of you that since the very first day of Trump 2.0, this presidential administration has been trying to delegitimize trans identity.

Executive orders have decreed that trans people are delusional and frauds.

Officials have literally erased the T from LGBT on websites and documents and signage.

And this is a part of a broader strategy among conservatives who have landed on trans people

as a tiny minority that can be easily demonized, even in a country that's made quite a bit of

progress on gay rights.

The way they're doing that, of course, is by trying to separate trans people from lesbians,

gays, and bisexuals, as if our issues aren't, you know, totally unrelated and our communities

are totally segregated and our futures aren't linked. This isn't the endgame, I should say.

They're obviously after gay rights, too, and they're not keeping that a secret. But it's much

easier for them to take
