Summary

Thomas “Black Jack” Ketchum and members of his gang rob trains in New Mexico until they become the most wanted men in the territory. Lawmen systematically dismantle the gang until only Ketchum remains. He attempts a train robbery alone and it proves to be the final act of his career. New Mexico wants to make an example out of Black Jack Ketchum, but it ends very, very badly. 0:11.0	On September 3rd, 1897, at about 10 o'clock at night, a southbound train slowed as it neared a station in the northeastern corner of New Mexico territory.
0:36.0	Anticipating the stop, the express messenger opened his door and stuck his head out to look.
0:42.0	As soon as he did, two masked men pointed their guns at his face and climbed into the car.
0:48.0	Two more outlaws quickly joined them.
0:51.0	One of the bandits ordered the messenger to open the safe.
0:54.0	The messenger said there was nothing in it.
0:56.0	The bandit shouted to open the safe or he'd shoot the messenger.
1:00.0	The messenger opened the safe and proved he was telling the truth.
1:04.0	There was nothing in it.
1:06.0	The robbers tore apart the car as they looked for another safe.
1:10.0	They found it built into the floor.
1:13.0	When the messenger protested that he couldn't open it, the bandits pistol whipped him.
1:18.0	The messenger explained that he didn't have the combination and the robbers hid him in the stomach with a bottle of a rifle.
1:24.0	They continued to shout at the messenger to open the safe and the messenger continued to say that he couldn't.
1:30.0	Finally, the messenger told the robbers they just have to kill him.
1:34.0	He simply had no way of opening the safe.
1:37.0	Now the robbers believed him.
1:39.0	They would have to open it the hard way.
1:42.0	They placed sticks of dynamite on top of the floor safe and covered them with kegs of iron bolts.
1:48.0	They laid the other safe on top of the kegs of bolts to hold them in place.
