Summary

An eagerly-awaited serving of TCF as Eddie gets to tell us all about the Dunhill Links experience where he showed more than a few glimpses of what he can do and where he belongs. Partnered with Andy Murray and playing with some of Europe's finest, there were huge crowds, 18 birdies for Eddie and a sizeable contingent of dogs as well as Big Ron and Mad Gazza planning their Saturday night out. A good week was clearly had by all, but where does Eddie go from here?

Add to this the news that Eddie was served with a court order and Iain fell over in a kitchen and you can imagine that it is quite the episode.

It's time now for the chipping forecast, in association with Peter Millar, brought to you by Andrew Cotter, Eddie Pepperell and special guest Ian Carter. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join three people together to talk about golf.

I'm Andrew Carter and it's a big hello to Eddie Pepperl. Hello Eddie. Hello there. Good morning fellow Chippers. Nice to be with you. See, we did a test before we started recording the pod and the delay didn't sound too bad, but it doesn't sound great. I mean, the reason for that might be that remarkably, for the first time in about two months, we're all in the same country of the United Kingdom. And in fact, Eddie and I are both in Scotland. Eddie's got his feeble Wi-Fi in Edinburgh. Is that right? That's correct, yeah. But we have electricity, which is a story that I don't know that I need to go into. But when we arrived a week ago, we had no electricity. It had been turned off by Scottish power because we had had unpaid bills for a very

significant period of time which the slide of Eddie yeah it really it was quite funny we opened the

1:18.1

letterbox for the first time in two years and um there was a hefty bill and a court order so um we

1:24.2

swiftly made payment and but we're all good now and it was just a clerical error on my part.

1:29.0

And as you can imagine, and there we go. But the Wi-Fi still were pretty useless. See, I quite enjoy those programs that I shouldn't really because it's actually, no, it's not always people in distress. It's some people who are just chancers. And the bailiffs are called. So there's call the bailiffs, there's sheriffs are coming, there's can't pay, won't pay, and basically it's bailiffs coming around. And quite often they're going to well-to-do houses of well-to-do people who just can't be bothered paying stuff. And one of these days, in one of these episodes, it's going to be a knock on the door.

2:01.6

Somewhere in Oxford, it'll just say a massive big title graphic. It's our Oxfordshire. And it'll be the bailiffs coming around and saying, Hi there, sir. Just notice you've got an unpaid bill for your heating. And we're here to seize goods. And they'll take away Gus and Pip. and you'll say, well, they're not worth much,

2:17.3

sentimental value only.

2:19.6

Yeah, we were put on a pair as you go meet us. and they'll take away Gus and Pip and you'll say well they're not worth much sentimental value only yeah

2:18.9

yeah we were put on a pair as you go meter so then we couldn't access the meter because it's in a cupboard

2:23.7

that we don't have the key to um so we spent or jen jen spent a good this was on last sunday night when we

2:28.9

were watching the rider cup so i was having to watch the rider cup on my phone in the car outside

2:32.5

and uh while jem was on the other phone

2:35.5

to Scottish power so it was um quite entertaining but we got there in the end okay well you could

2:40.3

have put it on your car radio Eddie uh well no we did that actually um as well did I I'm not sure

2:47.8

actually no I think I wanted to see it at this point I think I wanted to add the visuals at this point here there's a good testimony for the radio coverage did I listen to it I'm not sure actually. I think I wanted to see it at this point. I think I wanted to add the visuals at this point, Ian.

2:52.1

There's a good testimony for the radio coverage. Did I listen to it? I'm not sure. Anyway, yeah, so we're both in Scotland, Eddie and I. I'm in Trun at the moment. So my mother's Wi-Fi is extraordinary. So it seems to be doing okay. Does your mother have, I hate to ask this question, a bit of a hoarding issue?

3:10.6

Does she pay her bills? Yes, she does. I'm sure she pays her bills, but there seems to be quite a lot of stuff. Oh no, I mean, not a slight hoarding issue. I would say a substantial hoarding issue. So to follow on from the programme Can't Pay, Won't Pay, where the bailiffs come around, there's a program about serial hoarders, and my mother will

3:27.5

appear on it saying, well, this is a pair of Andrew's shoes from 1978 that I like to keep,

3:33.2

just in case. So, yeah, there's a lot of books you can see. I'm so glad we don't, we don't

3:39.6

film these things, but a lot of books

3:42.5

and a lot of, I mean, I would say this is the worst room. I'm just going to shift things around
