Hello, and welcome to the sleep story from Abide.

I'm Chloe, and it's wonderful to have you join me tonight for our story called Out of the Depths.

Tonight, we will be looking through Psalm 130, in which King David expresses his deep longing

for God in a time of deep pain.

Deep calls unto deep.

His deep need called out to God's deep kindness. We can hear David's

yearning for peace with God in a time of affliction. We will mainly be dwelling on verses

one and six, which read,

Out of the depths I have cried to you, O Lord.

Lord, hear my voice, and I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. More than watchmen wait for the morning.

We will be waiting serenely upon the Lord through this night

as we enter into a restful sleep.

We will more deeply experience the deep kindness of God

through a meditative exploration of the ocean depths.

At times, we may feel that our transgressions are deep, but his love is deeper still. His love is

deeper than the deepest part of the ocean.
