And today it's a slightly different programme because we're in Montrose at the air station here

and we're celebrating and commemorating the First World War.

Hello, good morning. I'm Mark Stephen. With me this morning is Mr. Ewan McElweth.

And this week we're commemorating the end of the First World War, looking at the stories from

around Scotland a hundred years on from the end of the conflict. Yeah, we're going to concentrate

in rural Scotland and frankly from my point of view, some of the stories I knew nothing about. It's been a real journey for me. The incredible

stories out there. We're not alive but you can still email us. We're always keen to hear

your stories as well. You can email out of doors at bbc.co.uk. And today we're at Montrose

Air Station, which you've been before. I'm guilty. I didn't

even know it existed. Well, you might not automatically associate Montrose with World War I,

but this East Coast town was the first location for one of 12 planned government air stations

under the instructions of the then-first Lord of the Admiralty Winston Churchill.

Now it is kind of concealed in the middle of an industrial estate, truth to be told.
