Boy, if even some of this story about the Kansas City Fire Department is true,

they need a little revamping. So the story is about this

Rebecca Reynolds, a 61-year-old paramedic with the K C. F.D. and she has just agreed to a settlement with the city of Kansas City

for 1.3 million dollars. She is a 61-year-old lesbian firefighter who says she faced abuse for years because of her gender, sex, and age.

And it's the city's largest payout for a suit against the Kansas City Fire Department.

She says she experienced sex and age discrimination, retaliation,

and a hostile work environment

while she worked for the Fire Department.

As part of the settlement, she agreed to drop two pending

discrimination lawsuits against the city and she also agreed not to pursue a third

lawsuit accusing a coworker of allegedly urinating on things in her office while she was out on medical leave.

Anyway, the report issued last year

found the department has made little progress

in addressing its systemic problems with sexism and racism.

Yeah, if that stuff is going on, absolutely.

1.3 million doesn't seem like it's enough, but she was probably tired of the fight and at 61 now she's like just

give me the million three and I'm gonna go away so she began working with K.C.F.
