Hi again everyone it's now 5 o'clock both here in New York and in Winder, Georgia.

A town currently reeling from the latest mass shooting shooting at a high school

this morning that left four people dead.

Two students and two teachers we just learned, and nine others were wounded.

In a press conference we learned they were all wounded by gunshots.

A press briefing with local officials in the last hour confirmed

that the suspect in custody is alive and talking. He's 14 years old and a student

at the school. We learned from officials that he will be charged with murder and

tried as an adult. Those officials also confirming again that all nine who were

shot, all nine who were injured were shot. It is another senseless school shooting in America. Students there had only

been in classes for one month. President Joe Biden put out a powerful statement, quote,

what should have been a joyous back to school season in Winder, Georgia,

has now turned into another horrific reminder of how gun violence continues to tear apart

our communities.

Students across the country are learning how to

duck and cover instead of how to read him write. We cannot continue to accept

this as normal. Barrow County Sheriff Judd Smith had an emotional moment last hour when he talked about today's

horror. I never imagined that I would be speaking to the media in my career over

something that happened today, the pure evil that happened today.

I cannot think the people behind me for the support they give me today,

to give this office and give this staff.

This hits home for me.
