| 0:00.0 | Regressing to the mean since 2015, it's the Hockey PEDEOCast with your host, Dmitri Filipovich. |
| 0:19.3 | Welcome to the HockeyPedocast. My name is Dmitra Filip Filipovich and joining me here in studio, my good buddy, Thomas Trance. Tom, what's going on, man? |
| 0:25.9 | Hey, Dim, we're back. We're back, man. We're so back, in fact. And it is our first episode of the 25, 26 season. It's our first episode coming off of our, dare I say, critically acclaimed |
| 0:37.8 | summer series where we interviewed people in the game, did five or six episodes of that. |
| 0:41.8 | That took us right into the off season. We knew we had big shoes to fill coming back. |
| 0:45.9 | And so we're going to start this new season with an annual PDOCAST staple, a tradition |
| 0:50.7 | that's become something of a landmark event for us. I think the brand new year, |
| 0:56.8 | obviously, it's a clean slate for everyone. I think it provides so much hope and excitement for |
| 1:00.8 | what's to come. And to help celebrate that, we're going to do our guys for the 25, 26 NHL season. |
| 1:06.9 | Now, I think the listeners that have been along for the ride with us for a couple years now know |
| 1:10.7 | this gimmick quite well, and they really love it. |
| 1:13.2 | If we've got some new additions from the listenership side that are tuning in this season, strap in, enjoy the ride. |
| 1:20.5 | It's going to be a fun one. |
| 1:22.0 | And I think this particular exercise, beyond just being incredibly fun to do, I think really allows us to get into our bags and showcase our chops a little bit in terms of talking about some niche players. We've had some very hilarious names over the years. I've been prepping for days now, constructing my list. You've been speaking with people in the game with pro scouts and various people to iron out your list. And so we're going to see how far we can go. We've got about an hour or so here. We're going to try to rattle through as many names as we can. This was the episode where in the past we dubbed Brandon Hagel, the philosopher. That's right. So a classic right there. I had Alexis Lafranier last year, though. That was an unfortunate miss. But we had a lot of hits last year, and I'm looking forward to sort of dig in into the bag and coming up with something. Now, I was hoping, because I tried to keep them a little higher level this year, right? But I think maybe at the end, can we do like a lightning round of guys who, if they make a team, are very, very interesting? Are you okay with that? Yeah, are you just trying to get Braden Pekal back on this list? Yeah, I just want to make sure that my whole list isn't Adam Wilsby, you know? Yes. Well, we're going to see. I think my list has a lot of, like, big names that I don't think are going to be surprises and then |
| 2:34.4 | once we get to the back half I think we're going to maybe more rapid fire style try to get |
| 2:38.0 | through as many of the deeper shoutouts as we can just as a reminder these are players |
| 2:42.5 | we're excited to watch this season either because they showed us enough flashes as last year |
| 2:47.0 | progressed that they'd captured our attention we're excited to see what they can |
| 2:52.5 | build on this year and follow it up with. We're players who are already established, and we just |
| 2:57.4 | kind of want to plant our flag as being very high on them, very excited about them, and there are |
| 3:03.1 | guys. And so that's why they're on this list. This is one of my favorite shows the year. |
| 3:08.4 | I say that about a bunch of stuff. |
