Hey, everyone. Welcome to a good football show. I am Matt Strout. The month of July is here. The start of the regular season is exactly 10 weeks away as we sit down to do this, and that means it is time to do some drafting.

Our very own CD Carter, lover of Arby's sworn enemy of the cicadas, author of countless self-published online books will be live drafting a fake football team today. I'm joined by John Dagle-Pat Dirty in the aforementioned Denny Carter, and it looks like we are underway. Denny, are you on the clock right now?

Yeah, I am. I have the fifth pick. I'm going to go with the anchor, the old anchor in Alvin Camara. Yeah, I know. In baseball, I do the anchor. I won't apologize. I apologize a little bit.

This is a go ahead, Matt. I was just going to say incredible work by the producers of this show to time it out so that we got in right when Denny was on the clock.

Amazing. This is actually a 12 team league as well. This is not a tournament team. So this strategy should fit outside of the minor adjustments you'll make for bestball and redraft formats.

But this strategy should fit your home team 12 team league, assuming Denny doesn't get fired like by the second pick.

Yeah, let's be honest. Let's be honest, decent tips of that. It could happen. It could happen. Folks. All right. I'm queuing up some receivers. So what I usually do, you know,

in bestball leagues, if I have a top four or five pick, I usually go with a running back past that I will go wide receiver usually or Travis Kelsey.

And then, so after I take that running back, I will probably, depending on how things fall, take six to seven non-running backs after that.

Okay. So it doesn't have to be wide receiver, obviously, but, you know, that allows me usually to get a top end quarterback. It allows me to get a top end tight end.

I've really grown to enjoy that strategy.

I am happy with the start because I've only felt like a villain on the show, whenever you mentioned zero RB and I say, no, just let the board fall to you, even though I do support zero RB.

Because in this case, it's not zero RB. You would acre or hero, just start in the first five or six picks, which is what I always do as well. So congrats, didn't I?

I did it as Pat would say I didn't joke or fight the whole podcast. I feel better now about my opinion. Yeah, it's better when we're not joker fighting. I think that's great.

So we've seen seven. The first seven picks were running backs. Then it was Travis Kelsey, eighth, Tyree killed ninth, and then back to running back with Pat's probably favorite player this season.

Cam Acres going 10th, which seems to be right around where he's going in a lot of drafts.

Pat, why is everyone whenever I take Cam Acres in the, in the, you know, I don't know, sometimes he falls into the second. Well, at least he was last month or two months ago.

People are telling me this is a terrible pick. Why are people telling me that?

I think a lot of it. I mean, it might be some of John Degel's burners, because the Darrell Henderson, like, I was still alive and well out there.

And the resume when you look back, it was so memorable, like, you know, the end of season finish, but it was very small sample size.

And it was when the ray, the Rams, of course, just basically totally logged off of Jared golf and had decided they couldn't win games with the passing offense at all.

And this may be like the fear that this might be a two man backfield permanently following Todd Gurley, the Todd Gurley era, you know, the re emergence of like the viable passing attack with the Rams.
