| 0:00.0 | The following is a presentation of the Force Center podcast feed. |
| 0:14.3 | From the center of the galaxy, this is Forcenter's show about Star Wars pop culture and the old adventure. |
| 0:19.4 | Old, ultimate adventure? Life itself. That's right. The tongue isn't working. The mouth is not flown yet. I'm not the mouth of sorrow on indeed. I'm Ken Napsok. That's Joseph Scribch. This is Star Wars Ring. Very happy to be here. Laughing at our, we've been doing this for over 10 years and still, Rocky years and still, Rocky starts. I, you, you, you said I was going to, that you were going to hit record. And instead of getting prepared and maybe making eye contact with the camera, I leaned forward and started finishing typing my list, so I looked like a psychotic person. It's, yeah, we're, it's for center on to go we're in the middle of a busy day. That's what it is. Set of emails. Now, this is Star Wars Ranked, which is our series of Rankin' Star Wars. It's a title of one play that's been going on for a very long time. But we have a new series we just launched. And it's our favorite scenes in Star Wars films. And we began with episode one, The Phantom Menace, to check out that episode. |
| 1:13.1 | And we're going to dive right into episode two, Attack of the Clones. |
| 1:18.2 | You know, we're giving our overall thoughts here. |
| 1:20.8 | This film has been at the center of so many important force center conversations. |
| 1:25.5 | I can't wait to dive into it. |
| 1:27.2 | Yeah, I'm very excited. |
| 1:30.3 | They showed this film recently at the Academy Museum and it sold out. |
| 1:35.7 | I was going to try to go, but then the horrors were happening in my hometown, so I couldn't. |
| 1:42.4 | But man, I can't wait to see this one again in the theater. |
| 1:45.2 | We've talked about it a lot, but just to be honest about my bias, |
| 1:50.8 | I think this film is usually on a lot of people's dead last when they rank the Star Wars films. |
| 1:59.3 | And I recognize many of the flaws. There is a stiffness to it in |
| 2:05.3 | parts. There is a real sense of there is a lot of CGI. So there are scenes that feel almost |
| 2:11.5 | surreal and floaty because not everything in the scene is tactile and grounded. So like like, I get some of the things that people respond to, |
| 2:20.5 | and we'll talk about some of the substantive moments like sand, I'm sure. |
| 2:24.1 | But I just love this damn film. |
| 2:26.1 | It's the ideas, but it is also just the, like, you know, |
| 2:32.3 | if you were trying to gently ease people into Star Wars and ease people into George Lucas's Star Wars, which is this intense mix of mythic philosophy, grounded real world politics and just pulpy weirdness, if you were trying to gently ease them into that, this is the exact opposite film |
| 2:52.7 | that you should show them. This is... Like, where you... Oh, is just the one? Oh, no. Like the original |
| 2:57.9 | Star Wars is like, hmm, interesting. That's been, that's been cut with a little something. |
