Welcome back. It is again the Book Riot Podcast. Today we are issuing our normal new cool

and we're talking about in the world of books and reading.

Two, our favorite reads of the year.

I'm thinking of this, I've now tried to metaphorize

this nine different ways that I'm not talking about favorite,

I'm not talking about best best that I like the most. I'm calling them

time capsule reads meaning. I'd put them in my own time capsule and if I had to

come back and I can only read certain books from 2021, these would be in my time capsule.

These are the ones that I want to make sure I have read.

So this, this, this, this is useful for a couple reasons.

One is you can put painful subject matter in there, right?

And not have to say that she said was your favorite book of 2020,

because it sounds kind of weird, right just it's a weird way of saying

that or your favorite your most enjoyable but these two these represent what you

want out of reading in aggregate or by themselves as the case may be.

I did come up with five picks.

I threatened that maybe four because the world of...

I'm too good for five.

My taste is too good, Rebecca.

I couldn't come out five.

I didn't come with five.
