Today's talk comes from Pastor Ben Stewart.

Several years ago I had a friend that was on a plane and the pilot came over the intercom

and told them we're having some difficulties with the engine.

And a few seconds later they all heard a big bang and then the plane began to not so much

descend as drop precipitously from the sky.

And he said as they all felt that, he said there was this fascinating thing that occurred within the plane sociologically speaking.

He said half of the people in the plane instantly became vocally religious.

Crying out to God pleading to Jesus for mercy, he said in the other half of the plane,

just screamed profanity.

Specifically the F word.

And he said, you know, even in the midst of my panic, he said it stuck out to me as odd.

There wasn't a lot of variety in the profanity.

It was just the one, just the one F word.

And yet after those excruciating seconds of plummeting, engines kicked back on,

plane right at itself, they continued to fly to their journey.

He said, but all of them were still back in that moment of processing, what just happened.

And the moment of crisis hit, I just learned something valuable about how I react.

And he said, and then I realized, and I realized something about how all of you react.

I know something about all of you.
