With me, as always is Sean Segal. You can find out of his great work over at Rodeviz. Sean, we like to do a lot of the macro discussions. obviously anyone who listens to us in draft season and in the off season knows that we spend a lot of time talking about

structural drafting, positional trends, pockets of value, areas to avoid how to go about different

things. People will know that our big strategy this year did involve attacking the running

back dead zone a little bit with a specific group of backs that got hit hard early immediately jk daubbins going down

and missing the whole season was he was one of the key names in that group but that structure of

building strong elite receiver depth in the first couple of rounds then coming back to running

back then going back to running back then going

back to receiver potentially getting an elite quarterback and elite tight end in there being willing

to use those rounds three to six range that in the past have often been wide receiver pick

no brainers we felt like could be all non wide receiver picks if you started wide receiver

wide receiver in the first two rounds which was the real real key for us that was a big that was where we landed obviously we talk about

these things a lot off season and it's fun when the season comes in to then talk about what actually

worked and why it worked and what we think will work in the future and what it means One of the biggest things that we always talk about with this, Sean, is every season is its own data point. It's one individual data. I just mentioned the J.K. Dobbins thing. And we had very few running backs that we were targeting in that range. If all of them had gone down, that strategy would have been completely lost, right? The different pockets of player value, I just mentioned the early receiver stuff.

That has been very successful.

A big part of the reason that's been so successful is most of the early running backs have

failed.

That's not necessarily something that we were sure would happen.

We've acknowledged before the early running backs do have plenty of upside.
