Summary

Our aim is for people to hear about Jesus. — This week, Pastor Louie Giglio reminds us of our ultimate goal and shows us how no matter the size of our platform the mission is the same. Take Maya Moore for example. One of the greatest women's basketball player of all time has leveraged her public platform to tell the world about Jesus, and spends her Sundays planted in the body of Christ and leading out in the choir. — So, yes we should strive for excellence in our work, to be distinctive in our passion and dedication, to pay the cost to be consistent; but if all of that doesn't ultimately build a platform on which we tell the world around us about Jesus, then we will never live out our calling to it's end goal.

You know God is so good that he doesn't want us to miss out on the big point in

0:26.4

life. And so these few weeks together what we've been talking about is how God

0:30.5

is able to confuse you. He doesn't want to limit your life. He wants to ignite

0:35.0

your passion and release you into the lane that you were uniquely gifted to run

in. But before he wants to do that, he wants to frame a purpose for you that's

0:46.5

bigger than your own life and your own experience. So at the end of the day, you

0:51.8

don't miss the big point. It was possible, I think, for someone to listen to this

0:56.8

series up to this point in time and say, wow, that's been encouraging. I want to

1:02.2

do my best. I want to be excellent at what I do. I want to lead my field and I

1:06.6

want to leave a mark in the world. But you can still do all of that and miss the

1:11.9

ultimate point of life, which is to know God and to make Him known. So bigger than a

1:18.8

job, bigger than a calling, even bigger than a lane or a stewardship or an

1:24.0

assignment is the purpose and the purpose is to know Jesus and to make Him known.

1:30.5

And I don't want any of us to miss that today and God doesn't want you to miss

1:36.8

the point today. There was a man in scripture that Jesus described and one of

1:41.9

his teachings. And he said in Luke 12, in this parable, he said, the ground of a

1:47.9

certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. So this man took the stairs. This

man crushed it in his area. This man killed it in his particular endeavor in life.
