Welcome to the sports media podcast. I'm your host, Richard Deich. My producer is Patrick Antonetti. We have reached the final weeks of 2024. And as everyone in the sports content space knows and does it this time, we will bring

you some end of the year content. And for this, I have assembled a blue ribbon panel when it comes to

sports media writing. Molly Kaleen is the sports media writer for the sports business journal.

I have invited them all here to give you the listeners two or three predictions in 2025. And then'll probably have them back on let's say December of 2025 and we can see how all of us did whether we did fabulous or we totally missed the boat and with that welcome everyone thanks rich my Richard thanks having happy to be here all right now we'll All right. We'll see if we can make this clean.

I haven't done a podcast with six people, four people on it, including myself.

All right, Molly, we're going to do it in alphabetical order.

That means you're just like in grade school, you're going to be one of the first people to speak because your last name begins with C. And so give us, we'll start with one prediction each,

and then we'll go around and then we'll do our second one. Give me your, what comes from

mind, your top 20, 25 predictions for sports media. I've got a couple, but I can narrow it down

to one. And no, I'm going to ask you for others. We'll just do, we'll do one each and then

we'll go around and comment on each of our predictions. All right. Sounds good. So one of my top predictions is a PAC 12 will get a media deal.

It'll come in the spring. And I think it's going to be streaming centric with a smaller linear

package. Who'd you say? Do you say the PAC 12? Pac 12. All right. John Lewis, Austin Carp. Any thoughts on that? As a prediction, I like that. I'd buy that,

obviously. Well, I mean, you pack 12th's got to get a media deal with somebody. You know, I mean,

to me, I'm very intrigued by what they're going to be able to get, given the programs involved.

It's not necessarily the most appealing set of programs, but it's also

college football content and for a CW, for an ion that hasn't gotten involved yet, and certainly

you know, for streamers, it might be appealing.
