I'm so glad that you are here because we are getting into our very last episode before Christmas of this year.

I've been trying to throw some Christmassy episodes from Old Time Radio Your Way, and there's one from a radio program called the new adventures of

Sherlock Holmes that I would like to share with you today now if you want to know more about

Sherlock Holmes go back and listen to episode nine I believe the hound of the Baskervilles, because I talk more in depth about

the Sherlock Holmes character in that episode.

But today, in order to save time, I'm going to not reiterate that information.

I just want to share with you a little bit about this particular radio program,

the actors that played Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson,

and then we'll get right into our featured Christmas episode here on Christmas Eve 2018.

Okay, so the new adventures of Sherlock Holmes was an old-time radio show which aired in the

United States from 1939 to 1950. Originally the show starred Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes

and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson. Together they start in 220 episodes which aired weekly on Mondays

from 8.30 to 9 p.m. The show first aired on the Blue Network but later moved to the mutual

broadcasting system. It was also originally broadcast from Hollywood. During World

War II, the show was also broadcast overseas through the Armed Forces Radio Service.
