Welcome back to the old time radio mystery suspense and horror podcast, your host here, Dakota.

All right.

So I've got a new, a brand new program that I'm going to start airing a little bit. And this will be the first episode from that program.

It was a program called Dangerous Assignment.

Dangerous Assignment was an NBC radio drama starring Brian Dunlovy. It was broadcast in the U.S.

1949 to 1953. There was a syndicated television series distributed in the U.S. from 1951 to

52. And there was an Australian radio series broadcast in 1954 to 1956 as remakes of the original American radio scripts.

The basic premise of the show was a man called the Commissioner

would send U.S. Special Agent Steve Mitchell to exotic locations all over the world where he would encounter adventure

and international intrigue in pursuit of some secret.

Steve Mitchell's cover identity in almost all of his adventures was that of a suave

debonair foreign correspondent for an unnamed print publication.

His assignments invariably involve deceit, trickery, and violence, all tied together into a

successful resolution by the end of the episode.
