July 16th of 1911, and she was an American actress, dancer, and singer

during the Golden Age of Hollywood, and she is often considered an American icon.

She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her starring role in the movie

Kitty Foyle of 1940. She's also best remembered for performing during the 1930s RKO's musical films

with Fred Astaire. Her career continued on stage, radio, and television throughout much of the

20th century. She passed away April 25th of 1995. All right, everybody, sit back and enjoy
