You heard it there, folks. And it is about the run-up to 9-11, and it is full of peculiar characters you've never heard of.

People who, in television dramas, would be heroes or villains,

but obviously are a lot more complicated than that.

And Jim, who is a spectacular reporter, Jim O'Grady, long-time reporter,

host, editor at WNYC, is the host of Blind Spot. And we're going to play the first episode.

But first I want to talk to you, Jim. It's so good to finally see you even via Zoom during the, well, the episode we're in.

Hey, I hear that all the time, but more often the moon. You know, we got briefly very close

when we were doing a walking tour. You want to recall that for the listeners? Oh, sure. That was for something like the

Jane Jacobs Society. Jane Jacobs being the famous urbanist, author of the classic

tome, the life and death of great American cities. Our walking tour was kind of a debate.

And I played Jane in Wig and Pearls

and her arch nemesis, Robert Moses,

the power broker, the master builder who thought big

and liked to plow highways through like brownstone neighborhoods, and that was you.

In a fedora and a long black raincoat, and it was a blast.
