Hello again. Hi. Welcome to Otisot, where we answer listeners' questions. We try.

Well, we try. I'm going to start with a message from a listener called Daniel who says,

I wonder if this question or similar has been asked previously,

but what to you is the most awful sound you hear a car make at the hands of a bad driver?

I think mine is the sound the front suspension and wheel makes

when it's compressed against a curb by a driver who can't or can't be asked

to reverse park into a space.

They drive in front first with far too much speed and at too sharp an angle,

mount the curb, and then come back into the space, get out and leave.

I heard and saw it this morning and it may be want to shout

expletives at them. That's a good one. That is a very good one. Very good. There's a lot of sounds,

which make me wince. I do really not like it when people get into a car and sort of put it into gear before they've

put the clutch down and there's that there's that transmission shunt with a crunch so you know

especially in an older car with cold oil and they just haven't thought it through.

That one's a real like teeth jammer for me.

I don't like that one at all.

Also, I just don't like it when people throw boots shut.

I used to live with someone who really put so much weight on throwing a boot shut.

I always thought the back window was going to smash in. It was so powerful. I was like, you don't need to throw the boot shut. It really just

closes. Yes. I also think the same with bonnets. It depends on the car, but, you know, it's like

a sort of dropping the bonnet from height.
