All right, I've been teaching through the book of Ephesians,

and I've covered two chapters in two sessions.

There's six chapters in Ephesians,

and I've got two sessions left,

which means I can't finish.

So I've got to pick and choose what I'm going to say.

Let me just say that I hope that this is encouraged to do if nothing else

to maybe read Ephesians with a different lens.

And like I was saying during the first two sessions,

the first three chapters are basically about what has already been done.

Everything is in the past tense.

God has already done it.

And he's just praying that your eyes would be open to what you already have.

Then in chapter four, he begins to talk about because God has done these things, now we should live holy and here's how we should live.

But notice the order of this.

He didn't talk about all of the things we need to do and then talk about what God would do.

No, everything in the Christian life should come out of relationship with the Lord.

It is not in order to get relationship with the Lord.

That's a subtle difference, but it's huge.
