because we're not normally podcasting in the morning.

Yeah, typically, this is a very unique recording situation usually we're recording

deep into the night like we'll start recording around 10 p.m. and record until like you know

midnight now we're doing it in the morning it's 1141 a.m. on a Saturday

which is a which is a and it doesn't sound super early for y'all, but like you got to remember that, you know, we have other things going on in our lives and like, you know, we just plowed through an entire week of regular day jobs and probably had a few drinks the night before so 1141 morning on a

Saturday for our lifestyles is like might as well be the crack of dawn I am I'm

loaded up on coffee right now so I think I'm able to get to get through it.

Yeah. But yeah let's we have a lot to talk about so I guess we should get straight

into the rise of Mao and the Chinese Communist Party.

And I guess I'll start off by saying that it was very unlike the Russian Bolshevik revolution.

Yeah. So the Chinese Communist Party didn't rise to power through some dramatic seizure of the state during a

political crisis like the abolition of the Russian monarchy in Russia's case.
