Summary

One brother was in the Marines. The other brother lived in Hong kong. Both Andrew and Ryan Beltran, co-founders of Original Grain, wanted to create their own path. So when they reunited they took an idea for creating watches using wood and steel and started a crowdfunding campaign that raised $400K in 30 days. What was the secret of their success? According to them, it was part uniqueness of the product, part being at the right place at the right time and 100% hard work. Here's their story.

In part 1 of this feature, Andrew and Ryan discuss The Original Grain origin story, How they incorporated wood in their design, How they created the natural material story, What's the X factor in succeeding in crowdfunding, The musical connection between Original Grain and They Story of a Brand, Learning from Doing versus going to College, How the military prepped Andrew for Entrepreneurship, Why Peer Groups are critical for support and so much more.

Join us while Ramon Vela interviews brothers, Andrew and Ryan Beltran in Part 1 of this episode and listen to him share the inside story of a brand.
