Samantha Manowitz is on our show today. She's an educator, soon-to-be PhD student, and an AASC-C AASECT certified sex therapist. She has given trainings

on abuse prevention and sex positive communities to mental health professionals, psychiatric

residents, sex educators, and alt-sex communities. She's also on the faculty of the Institute

for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment,

and is an expert on trauma and sex therapy.

Samantha has been quoted in articles in Slate, Vice News, and NBC, and she's presented at professional

conferences across the country.

And she let me know that in September 2019, she'll be closing her private

practice to pursue a social work PhD program at the University of Toronto School of Social

Work with a graduate specialization in sexual diversity studies. Here's Samantha Now.

Well, I want to welcome Samantha Manowitz today to the indoctrination show.

She is somebody who has an interesting story to tell.

And it is a story not only about something that happened to her

and happens within a particular community and also can happen in any community, which is the

important part, because it's about the nature of the relationship between people, but also how to

get past the experience and, and how to safeguard yourself and how to heal

from it. And so there are a lot of places this conversation can go. So Samantha, go ahead and
