We are back today with Chris to talk about orchard and maybe orchard mistakes or

0:17.8

orchard successes because recently we were over at your place because you had a new front yard section you wanted to add some fruit trees to do.

0:25.6

So we brought a couple of fruit trees. I think we ended up planting like six.

0:29.2

Yeah, maybe six and some berry bushes. But while we were there you were telling us that you had some mixed results in the past with fruit. So I'd love to hear and we'll take a little journey, mistakes, growth, how you feel now and where we're at today. That's fair. So you know it's funny because if

0:45.1

gardening is so specific for each thing so I like feel like I'm a pretty good

0:49.7

gardener so I'm like we have a hill in the back so we're to grow some fruit trees up there because it's kind of wasted space. So we get the fruit trees, we get the bareroot fruit trees, we order them from one of the vendors online, and we get them and we plant them. We had no idea what we were doing at all at all and so we I think we

1:07.6

ordered seven fruit trees okay it would have been if we had done it right it would have been a decent start.

1:14.0

And out of all the seven fruit trees, the only tree that grew,

1:20.0

which was an accident, we obviously just accidentally planted it right, was a donut peach tree, which was the best peach I've ever.

1:27.4

That's like the one peach I think I haven't even tried yet.

1:30.6

I see them and something about them, like throw me off. Like I don't know where to start. It is the best peach you can possibly have. Okay. I can't even express. Well do you still have that tree? I do have that tree. Okay. Okay. Okay. I will. Yeah, but so we just so now I was just telling you

1:43.8

we just have sticks up there. I think we're gonna pull. We have seven sticks.

1:48.0

Okay so one success, others maybe not so much. Yeah not so much.

1:52.3

And then so what we did is we asked you what you

1:54.2

wanted and you love stone fruit like the peaches I think we got you a cherry tree

1:58.8

a Meyer lemon and then we also put in from our yeah nectarine that's right I forgot about that one and then we're actually now selling live food trees like live plants

2:09.2

They're gorgeous. They're gorgeous. Yeah we brought you one of the Texas pink. I put one in my garden too. I already have a flower so I'm leaving it. I do too. Oh yeah, I don't have a flower. I have a thousand flowers. Oh, really? Okay. It's crazy. We planted that what like a month ago? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's crazy. We planted that what like a month ago? Yeah. Yeah. It's it's insane

2:26.1

It is a nice thing when it is pre-potted rather than a bare root is that you don't have to wait for the root growth as much.

2:32.4

So I'm taking a chance I'm sure you are too just is that you don't have to wait for the root growth as much.

2:33.0

So I'm taking a chance, I'm sure you are too, just for the ease,

2:36.0

of leaving the flowers and seeing if you get any fruit this year.

2:38.0
