And so what we're talking about today is as a gardener who has chickens, what are some things you can do in the garden to kind of

help your chickens out and so this is really interesting to me because I'm not a

a chicken razor quite yet and hopefully that'll change come 2020 but so the first thing we're going to

talk about is optimal egg production and this is really interesting to me

other things you can do in the garden that can help your chickens lay more consistently or more productively?

Sure, yes. As part of my book, Gardening with Chickens, there is a chapter on planting various

crops in the garden that are kind of tard. on production. There are certain things that you can add to a chicken's diet that are

supposed to help them lay at a higher rate, lay better quality eggs. Things like

Cayenne peppers, which are supposed to raise their body temperature, which are also good

in the winter for circulation.

But I guess in helping the circulation of the hand, it also leads to better production. And then two herbs,

parsley and margarram are also supposed to be good for egg production.

They're also super jam-packed with nutrients.

Anybody who grows herbs or cooks with herbs

or knows anything about them.

They are really, really nutritious.
