We have been talking about friendships, really this week,

as about community building and friendships.

And I thought, you know, Lauren, you're the best person to have to talk about this,

particularly for this next part because I want to talk about community building,

friendship building as an entrepreneur and as a podcaster.

And so for you, Lauren, I really want to start off by asking you,

what is that like?

Like what are the challenges in these spaces when it comes to forming relationships and building community?

So I know that you and I have talked about this offline a little bit.

But I think, so prior to being a content creator, podcaster, multi-hyphenate, whatever you want to call me, I worked in a nonprofit, teach from it for years.

And for a long time, like when I first joined corporate world, I worked for a law firm at first. And I was like, none of these people are going to be my friends. It was just like part, you know, just not. We know commonality. So I had my friends. I had my work friends. TFA, I found like a group of some dope black women, queens that were just scrappy.

Like we got stuff done.

Like just, you know about that, you know? Yes. That grit, that mindset. And we just had a lot in common. So some of my work friends became my really, really good friends to this day. And I love that. I was like, oh, when you work in something or an environment with like-minded people, And that's the majority of where you spend your time during the day, especially I was like I had a relationship with no kids and like that was where I thrive. Those are my, those are my friends, right? Then fast forward to now being a creator and entrepreneur, that work circle of who you work with, like your colleagues becomes very, very small. It's you. Yes. And it's very lonely. Like you can have peers in some way, but they're normally virtual, right? So it's like finding

those people reaching out, putting yourself out there to like try and connect to just see if you can
