And with me as always as my esteemed co-host retired Navy Captain Bill Toaddy, former skipper of the fast attack submarine U.S.S. Indianapolis, Commodore of Submarine Squadron 3 at Pearl Harbor,

as well as many other postings. How are you this morning, Bill? I'm doing well, Seth. How are you?

I'm not too bad. Hey, before we jump into today's topic, which is absolutely fascinating,

I got, hallelujah, people are listening to the podcast really happy happy about that and i got somebody

reached out to me via linked in and and said hey what what's wrong with your voice you don't sound

like you used to when i knew you way back when and and i and it's not a secret but i mean not

i'll address that yeah my voice is increasingly bad. Who knows

how long I'll be able to continue to do this. But as some people who know me know, I was in the

Pentagon on 9-11. And ever since, oh, roundabout, well, within a few days, I suffered from a lung infection, throat infection,

and over the years I've had increasing problems with my lungs, and I've got chronic lung

disease, but it's kind of crept into my vocal cords, and so I've had vocal cord surgery to try to remove nodules.

I apologize for the way my voice sounds.

Believe me, it pains me more than to talk than it does for folks to listen to me.

But, you know, we do what we can, right?

And so, you know, I appreciate folks

reaching out and asking about it. And I'm being treated at the Mayo, so hopefully we'll see

some improvement, but so far it hasn't worked. But thanks for asking folks.

You sound like a sea captain. Yeah, maybe that's it.

Maybe I should embrace it.
