In the bench trial of Jose Ibarra on the illegal immigrant charged with murdering University of Georgia student, Lakin Riley.

When Lakin Riley refused to be his rape victim, He bashed her skull in with a rock. Fox's Madison

Scarpino is covering the trial. We just heard from two of Lake and Riley's roommates who described

them going out to look for Lakin when they realize that she may be missing and finding one of her

air pods in the

woods where her body was later found. Prosecutors say based on evidence, Riley and Dibara's

interaction was long before she died and that she put up a fight. And the prosecution says that

they know this thanks to modern day technology like Riley's Garmin watch in the app, Find My iPhone.

Nibara's defense goes on to say that there is no injuries consistent with sexual assault

and that the DNA evidence in this case just is not strong enough.

He faces life in prison if convicted.
