Not five minutes into that first game with this terrible Gordon Hayward injury is a dislocated ankle and a

Fractured tibia for Hayward. I was amazed that he was as

Conscious and lucid as he seemed and he was just an absolutely gruesome injury

I was lucky enough to not actually see what happened like right away and

He obviously went down and you could tell from the reaction of the players on the floor that I mean the last time

I saw players react like that was that Paul Georg injury in 2014. It was horrible

I saw it live you could tell in because we were in the media room

Who was who was who saw it and who didn't because it just like it just took it took the life out of you

It was just it was so tough and Hayward, you know, it was such a key part of why the Celtics were exciting this season and

We don't know how long I don't want to speculate on the timetable here, but it was bad

It looked bad and this is a fundamentally different team for however long it is that they're without it

Yeah, and I mean I think people have talked about it the

Jeff Stotz was saying you know probably out for the year David Chow was saying eight to 12 months

So I really and I saw I heard that elsewhere also

So I would be extremely surprised if he were able to come back

I mean this is not the same injury that Paul George had in fact

It might be a worse one frankly with the ankle dislocation

But George remember that happened in August and he returned wasn't the same player as well

But did return for a few games at the end of that season and that was about an eight month recovery for him

So really I mean if he's not backed by the sort of the playoffs you think it would be a huge surprise

They brought him back during the playoffs. So I think it's pretty safe to assume that he's gonna be out for the year
