Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Lunch, our afternoon update on today's market action, news, and analysis.

Good afternoon. Today is Wednesday, November 5th, and I'm your host, Kim Khan.

Our top story so far. More than 1 million business customers are now directly using OpenAI.

This includes all organizations that actively pay OpenAI

for business use, either via ChatGPT for Work or through direct consumption of its models

through its developer platform. OpenAI says with more than 800 million weekly users already

familiar with ChatGPT, adoption and ROI within businesses are being realized more rapidly.

The company added that it now has more than 7 million total chat GPT for work seats, up 40%

in just two months.

ChatGBTGBT enterprise seats have grown ninefold from a year ago.

Canva, Figma, Zillow, and Spotify are among the companies already plugged in directly to

ChatGPT, and Shopify, Etsy, Walmart,

PayPal, and Salesforce are building new shopping experiences through the agentic commerce protocol

inside the app.

On the economic front, there will be no jobs report, again, this week, so ADP's measure of private

payrolls is echoing a little louder on trading floors.

ADP said October private sector employment rose by 42,000, better than the 25,000 expected,

and reversing September's decline. Still, the addition of new jobs was modest compared to the

first half of the year. Pantheon macro notes that the numbers are below the break-even level

for the labor market. But they also warned that the NFIB Small Business Survey, the regional Fed business surveys,

and the Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Survey all have much better track records of forecasting

official payrolls than the ADP numbers.
