Open AI and chat GPT are under investigation in a criminal case in the state of Florida.

Just over a year ago on April 17th of

2025, a gunman killed two people and injured six others on the campus of Florida State University

in Tallahassee. Florida's attorney general James Uthmeyer says that Chat GPT offered significant

advice to the shooter. The communication between the shooter and Chat GPT offered significant advice to the shooter.

The communication between the shooter and ChatGPT revealed that the chat bot advised the shooter on what type of gun to use, on which ammo went with which gun, on whether or not a gun

would be useful in short range.

Chat GPT advised the shooter on what time of day would be appropriate for the shooting to interact with more people,

and where on campus would be the place to encounter a higher population.

An open AI spokesperson said the shooting was a tragedy,

but ChatGPT was not responsible for the crime.

The accused gunman Phoenix Eichner faces several charges,

including two counts of first-degree murder.

on the final text of the highly watched tobacco and vapes bill. The legislation creates with the

government calls a smoke-free generation by making it permanently illegal to sell tobacco

products to anyone born on or after January 1st of 2009. That cutoff means anyone currently 17 or younger

will never legally be able to purchase cigarettes, cigars, herbal smoking products, or cigarette papers in the UK.
