Tonight, the important days ahead in Washington tie to our nation's debt President Biden

set to sit down with Speaker McCarthy tomorrow as the threat of default still hangs in the

balance.

And Republicans continue their investigation into President Biden's family.

They just need to track down their key informant first.

Then a preview of tomorrow's hearing on artificial intelligence is Congress prepared to regulate

this technology.

As the 11th hour gets underway on this Monday night.

Good evening once again, I'm Stephanie Ruhl.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is sounding the alarm yet again in a letter to the Speaker

and top lawmakers, Shiro, the United States could run out of money to pay its bills, quote,

if Congress has not acted to raise or suspend the debt limit by early June, then potentially

as early as June 1st.

That means Congress has less than three weeks to act or risk an unprecedented debt default.

In Congress, they're only in session a fraction of those three weeks.

Tomorrow, President Biden, Speaker McCarthy and Congressional leaders will hold their

second official meeting to try to reach an agreement and keep our economy from going

off the cliff.

The teams from both the White House and Congress work throughout the weekend on a potential

deal, but the President and Speaker still don't seem to be on the same page.

We just had our Secretary say June 1st we could run out of money.

We only have so many days left.
