There's a lot of speculation about heaven, some factual, most fictional. So what's the truth about the place that God is preparing for those

who follow him? Today on Insight for Living Chuck Swindall teaches from

Revelation Chapter 21. In this passage we're given a glimpse of our heavenly home

with its precious jewels and streets of gold.

Beyond the opulence, we'll also discover the rest that heaven provides. It's a magnificent dwelling place that

reflects the redemptive love of Christ. Teaching from Revelation 21, Chuck

titled his message, Open House at the Celestial City. Now, we've got this glorious city, we've got the wall around it, and we've got this

translucent substance that is described as a clear stone of Jasper from which they are made.

And now we go further and we learn of the dimensions of the city.

Verse 15 Through 17.

The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod.

So the one who spoke to him was the angel and the gold measuring rod so that he's able to measure the city and its gates and its walls.

I imagine as John watches the measurement takes place by this angelic creature that is not affected

by the gravitational pull of Earth.

So he's able to move up and down and around as he does the measuring. Note verse 16. Here's our place

prepared for us. The city is laid out as a square. Its length is as great as the whip. He measured the city with the

rod, 1500 miles.

Its length and whip and height are equal.

So we have a cube.

The Greek word says 12,000 stadia, translated here 1,500 miles.

One stadion is 607 feet.

If you do the math, you come up with exactly 1,380 miles. So generally speaking
