the longtime anchor at Channel 13 and then 31?

Boy, I hope that's not to Tom Curran but if it is that's a sad way for me to start the show I can tell you that

that's a I can tell you that Tom was, wow, Tom was one of my close friends when I worked in

Sacramento and TV and I'm very sorry to hear that.

So Southern Justin Iowa is it Tom Curran, the anchor,

News and Sports who did the Kings from 1985 until I started doing the games in 1988.

If that's the case, yeah. I'll tell you a story about Tom.

Tom did the games the first three years.

Tom and I were only been in 1988.

I had only been in Sacramento for a year.

And Tom and I had become pretty good friends.

We had hit it off and we always sat next to each other on the

non televised games. We had a lot of fun together And my first ever NBA game was in November of 1988.

And we were staying at the Red Line Hotel in Portland

with the team. I'll never forget it before cell phones now. Okay?

No cell phones did not exist and

It's about

330 And it's about 3.30, maybe 4 o'clock, day of the game.

And the hotel phone rings. And I pick up the phone and it's Tom Curran.
