We live in very strange times, ladies and gentlemen, as I sit here gazing out over the rooftops of London

and the skyline of skyscrapers in the gloom, I find myself wondering where it is that we are all going.

Watching the scenes from Washington, D.C. last night, I was filled with a mixture of feelings, really, sadness, frustration, anger,

and an increasing need to know why the world has become such a divided place full of people who hate so many other people just because they disagree with each other here on the home of common sense. We will never foster any of that. I disagree with lots of people about lots of things. I can also disagree with them without actually hating them or even falling out with them. It's time. More people learn to do the same. But when you see people

dying, guns being pointed, scenes more reminiscent from a post-election result in Belarus in one

of democracy's greatest buildings, the capital, of course, in Washington, D.C. You know something

has gone badly wrong.

This morning, we'll be asking Baroness Fox of Buckley how this hatred has infected politics so much on both sides of the Atlantic.

I'll also be asking you, what now for President Donald Trump?

Will he sit tight for the next two weeks?

Will there be an attempt to remove him?

Which, in my view, would be entirely wrong.
