Hi, this is Spencer from the Recovery Show.

Yesterday my Saturday morning meeting was held online and by phone

because the church in which we met had closed

for the duration of the coronavirus outbreak. I was really grateful

to have an opportunity to be in that meeting because right now I'm at my

parents house. My father was put on hospice care at home earlier this week, and I knew I had to come visit.

I thought that as probably many of you are also starting to miss meetings because

venues are closing people are not willing or not wanting to come together practicing as we're learning the term

social distancing.

We still need our recovery. We still need our recovery family,

a community, and we're living now in an age where

it is possible to meet virtually by phone or with video if you have good internet.

As we did yesterday. I started out connecting with video and quickly realized that the internet

and the basement of my parents' home was not good enough for that and

switched to phone. It was a good meeting. I then reached out to friends from my evening meeting to get them to pass along the

information about how to attend that meeting virtually by phone or internet. And then I thought I should reach out,

encourage you to do the same.

And so I put together a small list of resources on the website at the recovery dot show

slash online. I have a link to the Al-Anon website that lists phone and other electronic meetings.
