I'm Michael Baranowski, a political scientist at Northern Kentucky University.

My guest today is Ankargate, a senior fellow and chief philosophy officer at the Einrand Institute.

He's the Institute's resident expert on objectivism

and serves as its senior trainer and editor. He's taught philosophy for over 10 years at the

Institute's Objectivist Academic Center. Dr. Gate is a contributing author to a number of books

on Rand's fiction and philosophy, and his writing has appeared in venues that range across the

ideological spectrum, from Huffington Post to CNN to Fox News and Business Week. He's been

interviewed on national, international radio, including NPR and BBC radio, and has appeared as a

television guest on CNBC, KCET, Fox News Channel, and the CBS Evening News.

Dr. Gatte studied economics and philosophy at the University of Toronto and worked in the

financial industry prior to joining the Einrand Institute in 2000.

He received his doctorate in 1998 from the University of Calgary.

It's a pleasure to be here.

You know, I should mention I had, like, I guess a lot of folks back in college,

I had sort of an experience with Einrand.

I was, back then, I was really this sort of super conservative, fire-breathing, anti-communist.

And I remember picking up one of her books, I don't recall the title.

I didn't quite get that far, but I remember that the philosophy appealed to me at that time.

And, you know, I can't, so I can't claim right now to be expert in her work. That's why you're here.
