L podcast. Thanks so much for hanging out. I am Lawrence Holmes. A little bit of a

different episode today. But one that fits into exactly what we wanted House of

L to be when we first started this thing a little over three years ago. We

wanted to talk about media and we wanted to talk about life inside of media to

a certain extent. And that's what this episode is all about. Hang on, let me close the door.

Yeah, there we go. So I want to give you the background on this before we get into the

conversation and I want to try to get into the conversation as quickly as possible

because it's really good. And I think that I think that you will enjoy the insight

of Layla Rahimi on a bunch of different subjects that we talk about. But the

impetus for us to talk was she had reminded me that it was a year ago that we got

laid off at NBC Sports Chicago. It was because of everything else that was going

on, you just kind of or at least I shouldn't make this universal. I should say

what did it was for me because of everything else that was going on. I was just

kind of in, oh, okay, let's just get through it. Let's just get back to doing

radio and let's not worry about it too much and you had a good run and I

honestly was a little surprised with how I reacted to it because there wasn't

really anything that one could do. Circumstances were such that there's no

backsees, you know, like it wasn't, it wasn't going to be like, no, we made a

terrible clerical error and you're going to stick around and do your bear
