Hiddy, when did you start a Deadspin? What was your first day? I think it was about a little over a year and a half ago, you know, right around the bankruptcy and all that good stuff. All right. So one of your first posts was about Nashville hot chicken because you went to Nashville and you had hot chicken. And I remember the post vividly because it was like I'm obsessed with this hot chicken. And like at the time, and I'm going to say no one knew about it, but I'm only saying really it's only because I didn't know what the hell it was. I had never heard of it before. And now it's everywhere. Like there's a fuck, there's a fucking KFC hot chicken now. Have you seen that? I have. Yeah, I haven't heard the best things about it, but any form of hot

chicken is pretty good in my book. Anyway, apparently hot chicken is now all over the place, and so I just

wanted to credit you with the hot chicken phenomenon and ask you whether or not hot chicken is really

worth the effort or if it will destroy my colon as much as you promise.

I mean, it will definitely do that part, but it will do a lot of good for you, too.

I just remember distinctly the feeling like I just housed this plate.

It had been really, really difficult to get through it.

But when I was done, I had this weird surge of like adrenaline adrenaline and it was, I really wanted to just run through

the streets screaming.

I felt like I could knock down a brick wall.

I can't really describe that sensation, but it, I think everyone should experience that once

in their lifetime for sure.

Marchman, I'm not sure he actually had chicken.

I think he's talking about cocaine. That sounds more cocaine. Yeah, I've never had hot chicken. So I'm feeling like this is an experience I need to have. Should I get an Asheville for it? I've only eaten it there, so I can't vouch for any other city's rendition of it. I'm sure New York City will do it three times the price. Probably like half is good. But I'm sure you can get it here somewhere. It has now been fully gentrified. I saw an eater essay about this, about how it is now, it's now basically in every city, but it's, you know, it's just sort of like a dare now, like, you know,

like white boys in hot sauce, you know, just like, oh, I'll take the nuclear one.

Would I, if I go to the original shack, do I get the lowest rung?
