| 1:04.4 | At that time, it's hard to believe that the Fed Funds rate was 0.25 percent to 0.5 percent, and that |
| 1:12.2 | as recently as the first quarter of 2022, |
| 1:16.0 | the Fed funds rate was at around zero. |
| 1:19.2 | One year later, the Fed has raised interest rates eight different times and at times making very large |
| 1:27.3 | jumps of three quarters of a percent. So in May we had a half a percent increase in June of 2022 a three quarter percent increase in |
| 1:38.1 | in July a three quarter percent increase in September November 3 quarters of a percent so 4 in a row of 3 quarters of a percent |
| 1:48.5 | then December 14th half a percent and then in January a quarter of a percent. Now we're back to talking |
| 1:56.3 | about half a percent hikes again, maybe going farther and faster. It's hard to |
| 2:02.4 | believe but rates have gone up 4.75% in just a year. |
| 2:07.8 | And today we're talking about approaching a 6% interest rate, But the economy has held up well and although last year all the harping was on recession, recession, recession, recession, |
| 2:20.0 | what's really happened is the economy has been so strong, the Chairman Powell is now talking about raising rates more. |
