And I'll kick it off by saying Happy President's Day.

Or as it is for many people in America, happy, wait, are people off today?

Why?

Day.

And in honor of the nation's presidents, let's talk about something that each of them

has had during their time in office.

People who think they're doing a great job, and people who think they stink.

Ah yes, job approval ratings.

Since the dawn of modern public opinion, they've been a topic of consideration.

Concern, obsession in some white houses.

After all, job approval is a measure of a president's political capital, their mandate,

the degree to which the nation and the people that a president ostensibly leads are actually

following them at all.

Which brings me to the number of the week, which is 57%.

57% is president's Joe Biden's first measure of job approval, as of two weeks in his presidency

according to Gallup.

And I'm using Gallup here instead of the myriad other polling organizations that have also

checked out Biden's job of approval in recent weeks because Gallup has been doing it for

a heck of a long time.
