0:41.6	And this one begins like this.
0:45.3	Once upon a time in the Empire of Persia, there was a king called Shariar, his land extended as far east as India and China,
0:59.4	and his name alone made lesser monarchs tremble.
1:05.3	But even though no army or country could resist his power,
1:10.4	Sharihar had failed to conquer the heart of his first wife.
1:15.0	She had betrayed him with another man, and this had made him believe that all women would
1:22.1	betray him in the end.
1:25.7	This had made him cold and cruel and so, to take his revenge on all women,
1:33.1	he married a new one each night, only to have her executed the next morning,
1:39.8	so she could never be unfaithful.
1:43.2	For three years this lasted,
1:46.6	and hundreds of young women lost their lives to the king's murderous madness.
1:53.2	Noble parents in Persia lived in terror that their daughter would be chosen
1:57.9	to become a queen for one night.
2:03.0	The king's vizier found a new noble virgin each day.
