Hey Heroes, this is James, your Game Master, and this is one of the wildest and most emotional things

I've ever had to figure out how to say on the show.

And that is, soon we are going to start searching for a new host for the one-shot podcast.

There isn't just one reason for this move.

I think the general conditions of the pandemic definitely wore me down personally as I imagine they wore down a lot of you and also becoming a father gave me new priorities and responsibilities.

And nearly a year into this paternity leave plan that we've put together for the show,

the thought of going back to my normal responsibilities for one shot seems impossible.

There was a time where I felt like I knew every game that was about to come out, and where

I knew exactly how to find countless new voices in tabletop and welcome them into the space.

And for so many reasons, I don't think I'm there right now.

I don't think the person I am now is who one shot really needs.

And I really do think one shot needs someone.

I look back on all the things this show has accomplished and I am so proud. The games people have discovered, the designers who have found an audience, the performers who found a foothold in their careers, the stories that have entertained and truly meant something to people, this show has done so much.

And I think there is so much more that this show can give, even independent of me.

Now I'm not disappearing.

I'm not leaving the network or games or anything like that.

Skyjacks is going to keep going like it always has and I'm already working on putting together my next project.

I'm just going to be handing over responsibilities right here.

Soon we're going to start an open casting call for the new host of the one-shot

podcast. Someone to pick the games, cast the recordings, make stories come

alive with their performances

and help people see how powerful and fun
