Summary

Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar was carjacked in Washington DC Monday by three masked gunmen and it must have been terrifying.  It's just the latest in a series of representatives and staffers on the hill that have been crime victims this year.  I just have one question for Mr. Cuellar or any of the others and it's a doozy.    The Trump civic trial is the one that really jumped the shark.  What the hell is this thing about?  It looks like Trump filled out some bank loan forms that the state of New York says were exaggerated.  But he paid all the loans and the banks are happy with him.  What's the crime here?    Chris Jones did an interview on NBC after the game Sunday night we didn't see because they broke to local news and it's gone viral online.  Jones was great... but one of the NBC anchors got into it with the Chiefs star calling Jets quarterback Zach Jones "garbage."    The game set a record as the most watched thing on tv since the Super Bowl.  Travis and Taylor pulled in 27 million viewers.  Amazing.    Bill Self took the chicken exit speaking with the media and releasing a statement about his botched recruitment, signing and handling of a rape allegation against star guard Arterio Morris.    The MLB post season is here and our Final/Final is a company trying to reinvent a product you use every single day.

One of the things that really gets blurred in the silliness that we endure every day in our consumption of news events, world events, sporting events, whatever it may be, is the line between the silliness that's taking place and something very serious.

0:31.4

They're all sort of treated equally out there.

Whether you're flipping through social media, whether you're on your favorite website,

0:43.2

whether you're listening to a podcast or watching network news, everything is sort of presented equally and it becomes all sort of mind-numbing.

But this particular Monday was one of those days where the difference between silliness and seriousness

0:52.9

was never more easy to differentiate.

0:57.6

It was right there before us.

0:59.9

Yet the silliness becomes treated with much greater magnitude than the seriousness.

Case in point.

Donald Trump goes into court and it is a complete circus. The judge looks

1:15.9

like he belongs on a sitcom. He's making faces. He's mocking the camera. The entire thing is Letitia

1:22.8

James out there saying she's going to get Donald Trump and they're going to break his company down and

1:26.5

they want $250 million in fines and a civil suit. There's no jury. The judge gets to decide solely

himself. He looks like a crackpot, like I said, in some sort of a Will Ferrell comedy or a sitcom.

1:39.5

The entire thing is an absolute ruse that Trump somehow overestimated the value of his

1:44.9

properties.

1:46.7

Overestimated for what reason?

1:48.5

Just because we know Trump's a bragger?

1:51.3

What's the harm?

1:53.0

Overestimated on bank forms to get loans.
