| 0:50.3 | Every time you go back to it, you draw up more life-giving water, so rich and so full of the teachings of our Lord Jesus. |
| 0:58.7 | And today we come to one of the parables that is found only in Matthew chapter 13. |
| 1:03.4 | It is commonly referred to as the parable of the pearl of great price. |
| 1:07.5 | And it is found in Matthew chapter 13, verse 45 and 46. |
| 1:12.7 | For Jesus said, again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man seeking goodly pearls, |
| 1:19.9 | who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. |
| 1:28.2 | Now, if this sounds a little like the previous parable, it should, |
| 1:32.8 | because in the previous parable, you'll remember our Lord Jesus was a man |
| 1:37.9 | who found a treasure in a field and sold everything that he had and bought that field |
| 1:42.7 | so they could have that treasure. |
| 1:44.0 | And we identified that treasure. |
| 1:48.2 | And we identified that treasure as the nation of Israel. |
| 1:53.8 | Because repeatedly in the Old Testament scriptures, Israel was called God's great treasure. |
| 2:02.7 | But now we come to a very similar story, but a different picture in Matthew chapter 13, verse 45 and 46. |
