I'm your host if you yway and in the virtual studio with me on my friends so let me

introduce you to them. First up we have the king of the critics Alonzo de Ralde

OK, so what's exciting for me is maybe somebody

who is the king of the critics.

I'm a big fan of Mark Harris. He writes for Bulcher. He is somebody who has you

know tried my hand at writing books about movies. I think he's one of the foremost practitioners of it right now. He did

pictures at a revolution which was about the the best picture nominees of

1967. He did five came back which got turned into that amazing Netflix documentary and his new book

about Mike Nichols just comes out this week and I'm just starting it but like he's

just so fascinating I'm not even the biggest Mike Nichols fan in the world, but I think by the end of this book,

I'm going to be so completely into what he's about. And Nichols' life is so amazing.

This is the guy who started out. Basically, kind of, he and Elaine May were one of the sort of earliest

practitioners of improv comedy he then becomes like this legendary Broadway

director and then movie director and you know the child of immigrants the whole nine yards so it's an it's an incredible story and you know it's a

filmography that includes things like you know who's afraid of Virginia Wolf and the
