They've been taught to insult people rather than critique people. They go to people and they say,

you're doing bad. You suck at this thing. You did this thing wrong. And they give them nothing to do

instead. In order to give somebody feedback, it is crucial that you know their goal. And it has to be

a self-proclaimed goal. You said you want to be CMO, right? Now I'm going to address the gap, which is, okay, if you want to be CMO, a CMO would do this,

you're doing this.

So in order to be CMO, because I want you to get there and I want you to fucking win, I want

you to do this instead.

So I'm not telling him what he did wrong.

I'm labeling it as if you want to win, if you want to hit your goals, you do this instead.

I say it in a positive way. And then I acknowledge the progress,

which is the most important part. What's up guys? Welcome back to Build. In this episode, I'm going

What's one mistake maybe you and Alex made starting your gym and, you know, going from no salespeople to a sales team that you think people here

could take away from and kind of avoid.

Most of the time what happens is people are like, I don't want to pay a lot.

So I'm going to hire people who don't have experience, but I'm also a shitty teacher.

And so I'm going to bring in people with no experience that I also don't know how the fuck to teach.

And so then you have stupid people and you're stupid. And so it's like, you're both like, this is my first time.

They're like, it's my first time.

Like nobody knows what to do.
